Hundreds of students throughout Indonesia take to the streets to express their feelings, here are their 5 demands
Indonesia again stole attention when hundreds of students from various campuses in Jakarta demonstrated on Friday.
However, their action was prevented by the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and police near Sudirman Station, Central Jakarta.
BBC News Indonesia reported that there was a shoving incident between students and police and TNI officers at around 16.00.
After that, the TNI and police formed layered barricades on Jalan Sudirman.
However, what are students actually demanding through this demonstration?
For your information, the demonstrations which were also held in several other cities demanded five things from the government, namely:
-
Stop wasting the state budget
-
Reducing the price of basic necessities and fuel
-
Stop the Free Nutritious Food Program (MBG) and the development of the Kampung Merah Putih Cooperative
-
Stop the militarization of the civilian sector
-
President Prabowo was asked to stop denying and admit the government’s mistakes.
In Jakarta, the demonstration was led by the University of Indonesia Student Executive Council (BEM UI), the National Student Front (FMN) and the Indonesian Women’s Union (Seruni).

They had originally planned to hold a demonstration entitled #TowardsIndonesia’s Bankruptcy.
Chairman of BEM UI, Yatalathof Ma’shum Imawan invited community groups such as workers, teachers, traders, housewives and others to join in the demonstration.
“Let’s fight for justice. Because justice does not come by itself. It must be sought by the great Indonesian people, not the government which pretends to be great,” said Athof as quoted by Kompas.com.
Meanwhile, to guard the demonstration, the Metro Jaya Regional Police deployed 3,651 members and the TNI as many as 500 members.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto emphasized that the large-scale deployment of troops was aimed at ensuring the safety of protesters and the public.

Apart from Jakarta, hundreds of students from the Soloraya BEM Alliance also held an action entitled Indonesian Reform Emergency in front of the Solo City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) building on Friday.
In Bandung, West Java, a group of students from Padjadjaran University (Unpad), Indonesian Education University (UPI), Parahyangan University (Unpar) and Indonesian Computer University (Unikom) took action in front of the West Java DPRD building.
They highlighted the economic situation, the ratification of the National Police Law, and the increase in Pertamax fuel prices.
On Thursday, hundreds of students from the Islamic University of Riau (UIR) also held a demonstration at the Riau DPRD office in Pekanbaru.

One of the concerns of these students is the MBG program.
Meanwhile, in Makassar, South Sulawesi, a number of student activists demonstrated against the increase in fuel prices.
Named the Student Activist Movement (GAM), the students also expressed similar demands such as stabilizing the rupiah exchange rate, rejecting the Pertamax price increase, and canceling the newly passed National Police Law.
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
