Zamri Vinoth’s handcuffs are lawful – Inspector General of Police

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) — Inspector General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail explained that the action of bringing independent preacher Zamri Vinoth to court in handcuffs last Tuesday was carried out in accordance with existing procedures and laws.

He said that Zamri’s initial arrest was related to the Article 505 Criminal Code case, apart from being investigated under the Sedition Law which requires different procedural actions.

“The offenses we previously arrested were different. Some were bailable and some were not, especially in the early stages of arrest involving four cases in Putrajaya, based on Article 505 of the Criminal Code.

“At the same time, there are also cases under the Sedition Law that require different procedural actions,” he said at a press conference in Jakarta, today.

Mohd Khalid said the differences in measures could cause confusion among the public, but assured that all processes were carried out in accordance with legal provisions and were common practice in the country’s legal system.

Last Tuesday, Zamri and activist Arun Dorasamy were among three people tried in several states on charges of making statements that caused public panic.

Zamri, or real name Muhammad Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court; Arun, whose real name is Arumugam Dorasamy, 56, was charged at the Jawi Magistrate’s Court, while e-hailing driver P Mahendra Bhoopaty, 53, was charged at the Seremban Magistrate’s Court.

However, Zamri and Arun pleaded not guilty, while Mahendra Bhoopaty was fined RM4,000 or seven months in prison after pleading guilty to similar charges.

Commenting on the whereabouts of activist Tamim Dahri, Mohd Khalid said that his party had received information that he was in the Holy Land and prosecution had been taken.

“When the time comes (for him to return), we will take action against him,” he said.

Last Monday, Mohd Khalid informed Tamim that Tamim would be charged at the Langkawi Magistrate’s Court, Kedah under Article 295 of the Criminal Code for allegedly damaging the “soolam”, a sacred symbol of Hinduism at the old site of the Sri Maha Muniswarar Temple in Langkawi.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
