MetMalaysia Issues Heavy Rain Warning For Most Of The State This Afternoon
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected across most of the state through tonight. In a statement issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), heavy rain and thunderstorms will hit the entire region. Perlis, Penang Island, Silver.
Apart from that, two other areas are also predicted to experience heavy rain, namely Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur And Putrajaya Federal Territory.
Moving on to the states Kedah Heavy rain is also expected in Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu.
For the country Kelantan Meanwhile, the affected areas are Jeli, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang. For the country TerengganuA warning was issued to residents in the Besut, Setiu and Hulu Terengganu areas.
Next for the country Pahang Meanwhile, the affected areas are Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong and Rompin.
For the country Selangor Meanwhile, the affected areas are Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang.
For Negeri Sembilanwarning issued to residents around Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau and to Johor Meanwhile, a warning was given to residents around Segamat.
For the country SabahThe warning covers inland areas (Kuala Turtle, Beaufort and Tambunan), Pesisir Barat and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Kudat).
Finally, for the country Sarawakwarnings were issued to residents around Kuching (Lundu), Samarahan (Simunjan) and Betong.
MetMalaysia also said a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that is approaching or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period of not more than six hours for a single issue,” MetMalaysia said.
