Heavy rain is expected in seven states this afternoon
The Meteorological Department of Malaysia (Metmalaysia) issued a heavy rain warning in seven states until 16.00 today.
In the statement, several districts in the states of Perak, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Johor, Sarawak and Sabah are predicted to be affected.
“From SilverThe affected areas are Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Perak Hilir. Meanwhile at o’clock Terengganu Furthermore, the areas involved include Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu and Marang.
“Besides, in Pahang Several areas involved include Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin. For SelangorThe predicted area is only Sabak Bernam.
“From JohorThe areas involved are Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.
“Switch to SarawakThe areas where rain is predicted are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Kanowit), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu and Dalat), Kapit (Lagu) and Limbang.
“When in Sabah including interior (Sipitang and Tenom) and Sandakan (Kinabatangan and Sandakan),” said his statement.
In this regard, residents in the area are advised to be aware of sudden weather changes and ensure the safety of themselves and their families.
The public is also advised to avoid outdoor activities and always follow weather warnings from MetMalaysia through official channels.
Preventive measures need to be taken to reduce the risk of undesirable events occurring due to bad weather which is predicted to hit the area.
