Four Immigration Employees Between 12 Detained by MyIMMs
KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Bernama) — Four employees of the Department of Immigration Malaysia (JIM) and two employees of the Information Technology Department of JIM among 12 individuals were detained in a joint operation to quell the illegal activities of the Malaysian Immigration System (MyIMMs) regarding illegal applications and approval of Temporary Work Passes (PLKS), last evening.
Chairman of the Malaysian Corruption Prevention Unit (SPRM) Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said those also detained in the operation carried out by the agency with the cooperation of JIM were two company directors, three foreigners and a police officer.
He said all the suspects, aged in their 30s to 40s, were detained between 2 and 5 pm at the SPRM and JIM headquarters in Pulau Pinang.
“The results of the initial investigation found that this syndicate used the 2011 PLKS quota without paying the exact levi issued.
“A total of 1,306 fake PLKS were issued causing losses to the government estimated at RM2.4 million,” he said in today’s statement.
Abd Halim said searches were also carried out at company premises and JIM officials in Pulau Pinang and Putrajaya.
He said the operation in question was the result of a risk information collaboration between the SPRM Security Division and the JIM Security Division which had been carried out since last May in the Klang Valley and Pulau Pinang.
He said the operation was also assisted by Cyber Security Malaysia (CSM), Telekom Malaysia and SPRM’s Forensic Technology Division (BFT).
All the suspects were brought to the Putrajaya Majistret Court this morning for a criminal application for investigation according to Sections 17(a) and 16(a) of the 2009 SPRM Act.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
