Government Encourages People to Switch to Usage Time Scheme, Helps Save Electricity Bills – PETRA

PUTRAJAYA, April 10 (Bernama) — The government encourages the public to switch to the Time of Use (ToU) scheme as a practical step to save on electricity bills and strengthen the country’s energy use efficiency in the face of global energy price uncertainty.

The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) in its statement today informed that as many as 128,868 consumers had switched to the ToU scheme as of last February, reflecting increasing public awareness of the importance of more efficient energy management.

PETRA informed that a smarter approach to energy use through this scheme provides users with the opportunity to enjoy lower electricity rates during off-peak hours compared to peak hours, thus helping to make savings through changes in daily consumption patterns.

According to PETRA, ToU scheme peak hours usually cover periods of high electricity demand on weekdays, namely between 14.00 and 22.00, with higher rates.

Off-peak hours include periods of lower electricity demand such as evenings through early mornings, weekends and holidays, which offer consumers lower rates.

“This tariff difference gives consumers an incentive to plan their electricity use more efficiently,” according to the statement.

PETRA explained that through the ToU scheme, consumers can shift energy-intensive activities such as using AC, washing machines, water heaters and charging electric vehicles to off-peak hours to maximize savings.

“This approach not only helps reduce electricity bills, but also contributes to more efficient and sustainable energy use,” the statement said.

PETRA informed that the government views the ToU scheme as one of the important initiatives in helping people control and reduce electricity bill costs, encourage more efficient energy use and reduce the burden of electricity demand during peak hours.

Therefore, PETRA informs that efforts to expand the use of this scheme will continue to be intensified in line with MADANI Malaysia’s aspirations which emphasize community welfare, resource sustainability and governance efficiency.

“Wise use of energy not only helps reduce the cost of living, but also contributes to environmental sustainability and a more balanced development of the country for future generations,” according to the statement.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
