Woman’s Body in Bag: Man With Six Criminal Records Arrested
SEREMBAN, 19 Dec (Bernama) — A man was arrested to help investigate the case of the discovery of a woman’s body in a bag planted behind an uninhabited house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, here yesterday.
Negeri Sembilan Police Deputy Chief SAC Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said the 41-year-old man was arrested at around 14.30 in Melaka, before being taken to the Rembau Police Headquarters.
“The man is now being detained for a week until this Thursday for further investigation in accordance with Article 302 of the Criminal Code,” he told Bernama today.
He said, based on the investigation, the man involved may have known the victim and so far the police did not know whether he was directly involved in the case or not.
The man also, he said, had six previous criminal records including drugs and police believed there were several other people also involved in the case.
Muhammad Idzam said that the autopsy process was carried out at Rembau Hospital.
Yesterday, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad reportedly said the body was found in a bag planted behind an uninhabited house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, here believed to be a woman who had been reported missing in Ampang, Selangor, since December 8.
He said that the report of the woman’s disappearance was received by the Ampang Police, Ampang Jaya, last Monday before the police carried out an inspection at a house on Jalan Pedas-Linggi which was found to have committed a crime.
