Kuala Lumpur, June 1 (named) – The Ministry of Education (KPM) will soon specify the initiative of a book voucher for all educational service officials (PPP) under the ministry and implement it in the near future.
KPM in a statement today said he welcomed the announcement of the initiative of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim who was expected to benefit more than 430,000 PPP throughout the country.
“KPM expressed his highest appreciation to the Prime Minister for the announcement of a book voucher to all PPPs under KPM during the completion of the opening ceremony of the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBB) 2025.
“The announcement of the Prime Minister reflects its concern for the importance of fostering the practice of reading in the community, including educators,” the statement said.
The Prime Minister in his speech at the ceremony said the initiative to give a book voucher was expanded to more than 400,000 teachers this year as a continuous step of the government to process the practice of reading among people, especially school students and universities.
He said the teachers had great responsibilities in spreading knowledge and playing a role in encouraging students’ interest in reading practice.
According to KPM, this initiative also coincided with the Ministry of Sustainable Efforts to improve the practice of reading at all levels and encouraging lifelong learning among educators.
