Chegu Bard was arrested in the discussion about the royal institution
Kuala Lumpur, September 6 (named) – The police arrested a political activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin or Chegu Bard last night, to assist in video investigations on social media featuring incitement and accusations of unfounded royal institutions.
Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) Datuk M. Kumar said the video was detected on September 4, through sending a Tiktok account that shows a man known as Chegu Bard is providing incitement.
“Investigations to the video distribution were carried out by the JSJ Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Unit (USJT), after the police report was received.
“On September 5 at around 10:25, the police arrested a 47 -year -old man who was believed to be a speaker in the video to help the investigation,” he said in a statement today.
Kumar said the case was being investigated based on section 4 (1) of Sedition Act 1948, section 505 (B) of the Criminal Code and Section 233 of the 1998 Communications and Multimedia Act, while the detention application was based on section 117 of the Criminal Code Criminal Procedure will be made today.
He emphasized that loud action without compromise would be taken to any party who deliberately made or spread the statement of incitement that caused public anger and disrupted the harmony of the Malaysian people.
