8 States, 2 Regions Forecast Heavy Rain Tonight
The Meteorological Department of Malaysia (MetMalaysia) issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain in eight states and two Federal Territories (WP) until 16.00 this afternoon.
Based on this information, several areas in the state are predicted to experience rain, such as Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sarawak, Sabah as well as the entire Kuala Lumpur WP and Putrajaya WP.
“From KelantanThe areas where rain is predicted are Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang. Upon entry Terengganu and Besut, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman.
“For PahangThe areas where rain is predicted are Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, Pekan and Rompin. On Selangor involving the Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang regions.
“From Negeri SembilanJelebu, Seremban and Port Dickson are among the districts expected to see rain in the afternoon. Johor also in Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.
“Switch to SarawakThe areas where rain is predicted are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong) and Limbang.
“For Sabah and inland (Sipitang, Kuala Turtle, Beaufort and Tambunan), West Coast (Papar, Penampang and Ranau) and Kudat (Kota Marudu),” the statement said.
Therefore, residents in the area are advised to be aware of these sudden weather changes and ensure the safety of themselves and their families.
The public is also advised to avoid outdoor activities and always follow weather warnings from METMalaysia through official channels.
Preventive measures need to be taken to reduce the risk of undesirable events occurring due to bad weather which is predicted to hit the area.
