102 Schools in KL, Selangor Implement PdPR and BDR Simultaneously with the 47th ASEAN Summit – Ministry of Education
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) — A total of 102 schools in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor were given permission to carry out Home Teaching and Learning (PdPR) and Work from Home (BDR) from 23 to 29 October in conjunction with the 47th ASEAN Summit.
The Ministry of Education (KPM) announced measures to ensure that students’ learning processes are not affected taking into account road closures and security controls that will be implemented during the conference.
“Parents, guardians, students, teachers and school residents involved are advised to refer to their respective school’s official channels to obtain further information regarding the implementation of PdPR and BDR,” said a statement from the Ministry of Education.
The Ministry of Education and Culture also informed that the experience of implementing PdPR and BDR during the COVID-19 pandemic and holding the ASEAN Summit last May was able to ensure the continuity of the learning process while maintaining the welfare of students, teachers and the entire school community.
The ASEAN Summit is expected to be the largest and most prestigious meeting of world leaders to date with the presence of influential superpowers.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim previously said United States (US) President Donald Trump was among those expected to attend in addition to possibly Chinese President Xi Jinping as well as heads of government and ASEAN dialogue partners.
