The ‘Kantoi’ soccer club puts spell paper in the opponent’s room
A Chinese soccer club was fined 30,000 Yuan (around RM17 thousand) after being found to place a mantra in the opponent’s room.
Changchun Xidu FC Club in the Two Chinese League competition was found guilty because it was found before the match on June 28.
According to the official statement of the Chinese Professional Football League (CFL), the club has used the ‘Tajat Feodal Object’ which aims to increase their chances of victory.
“With this command, Shanxi Chongde Ronghai must be killed,” the spokesman wrote in a yellow sheet of social media, as reported by Oddity Central.
CFL in a statement said he had analyzed evidence before deciding to complete the club.
The league also emphasized that they will be handled tightly and seriously all forms of violations of rules and ethics in accordance with the disciplinary and ethical code.
In the match, Changchun Xidu FC defeated Shanxi Chongde Ronghai in a 2-0 decision. Thus this strengthens their position in second place.
However, the victory was polluted by the controversy for the use of spell paper.
Especially after the disclosure that such incidents are not the first to happen every time the opponent visits the Xidu FC Stadium.
The incident triggered a hot debate among Chinese soccer fans. Many describe the use of superstition in sports as unethical and tarnish the spirit of sports.
