Telecommunications substation components were stolen, three police reports were made
Kuantan, (named) – The police received three reports about the theft of a slot card component at the telecommunications substation around the Raub yesterday.
Raub District Police Chief Supt Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman said the report was received from the telecommunications company U Mobile, Maxis and Celcomdigi.
“The loss of slot cards has caused service disruption to consumers because it failed to process internet data from telecommunications companies,” he said in a statement today.
He said the case was being investigated based on section 379 of the Criminal Code and the public with relevant information asked to contact the Raub District Police Headquarters Movement at 09-3552222.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Communication and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-Government Organizations Fadzli Mohamad Kamal said Celcomdigi actively recovering the network by replacing damaged equipment and making recovery to the tower.
“At 17:30, the tower in the city of Dong, Kampung Gesing, Chendra Chincin Village, Tanjung Putus, Kampung Bukit Pampong, Jelu Village, Gali Hilir Village, Hulu Temau Village and the Ruan River have been successfully restored,” he said at a post on the Facebook yard today.
Yesterday, Fadzli reportedly said that the Celcomdigi communication tower in Dong, Raub was reported to have been damaged by Vandalism, which affected services in several surrounding areas.
He said the initial investigation of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) found that the tower had played the role of ‘collectors’ that connected several other transmitters.
