Failure of the National License & Review of Club Direction – KDA FC
The Kedah Darul Aman soccer club (KDA FC) has confirmed that they have failed to get a national license for the 2025/2026 season as announced by the Malaysia Football League (MFL).
As a result of this failure, KDA FC will not be able to participate in the Super League competition next season.
According to a formal statement from the club, the failure to get a license is due to non -compliance with financial aspects that cannot be completed in the period determined by MFL.
The majority of KDA FC owner Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar represented the club openly apologizing to all supporters, sponsors, players, and club staff affected by the decision.
“As the majority owner, I am responsible for the shortcomings and consider this as an important lesson to re -evaluate the structure and approach of the entire club,” he said.
Meanwhile, KDA FC also expressed its appreciation to MFL for the cooperation and considerations given during the licensing process.
“The club is aware of financial arrears that have not been completed and planned a solution to be completed after a discussion session with all those involved.
“KDA FC also considers other options to ensure that the club remains relevant and is actively involved in the national football landscape. This includes participation in other platforms that are in line with the direction of recovery and rebuilding the club,” he added.
Commenting further, he said, this period is described as “walnut hibernation”, time to increase, strengthen the foundation and prepare before returning.
The club also expressed his appreciation to all supporters who continued to provide unproiled support despite facing this difficult situation.
