The benefits of making a pilgrimage »noble

Performing the pilgrimage is an obligation in the teachings of Islam which is part of the fifth pillars of Islam. This order is intended for every Muslim who has fulfilled the requirements, both physically and financially. However, there are still many who do not understand in depth the benefits contained in the pilgrimage, so it is important for us to know the wisdom and virtue.

Every year, millions of Muslims from various countries make long trips to home in the city of Mecca. This journey is not a normal journey, but it is a form of compliance for Allah Subḥānahu wa Ta’ālā in His commands that have been emphasized in the Qur’an and exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam in his hadith. Therefore, understanding the reasons and benefits of pilgrimage not only adds to the vision, but also increases their faith and motivation to do it when they are able.

Aside from being a form of obedience and religious obligations, the pilgrimage contains a variety of valuable benefits, both spiritually and physically. The following are some of the wisdom that can be learned from the pilgrimage:

1. Give inner satisfaction and peace of mind
For a Muslim, being able to perform the pilgrimage is an extraordinary achievement because it is included in the pillars of Islam. Inner peace and satisfaction arose because they have carried out one of the great obligations in religion. Not everyone has the opportunity to carry out this worship, even though a strong desire has been owned. Many people are hindered by physical, economic limitations, and some are even outwardly able, but have not been permitted by Allah Subḥānahu wa Ta’ālā to leave. So, those who have got this opportunity should be grateful and interpret it seriously.

2. Get a big gift from Allah
The priority of pilgrimage is also seen from the great gift given by Allah Subḥānahu wa ta’ālā to his servants who do it. In the hadith narrated by Ibn Mājah, it is stated that:

I said, O God of envoys, to women of ignorance? He said: Yes, jihad did not fight in it: Hajj and Umrah

“I said: o God’s messenger, is women also obliged to fight?”
He replied, “Yes, for them there are jihad that does not contain war, pilgrimage and Umrah.”

(Clock. Ibn Mājah)

This hadith shows that the pilgrimage has a high reward value, even equated with a noble jihad fi sabilillah.

3. Train and physical healthy
The implementation of the pilgrimage requires stamina and excellent physical strength. A series of worship such as ṭawāf, sa’i, and wukuf in Arafat demanded the body to move a lot and not infrequently done for a long time in the crowd of worshipers. Therefore, every prospective pilgrim is usually recommended to check health before leaving. Hajj activity indirectly helps burn fat, increase metabolism, and facilitate blood circulation. This is a physical benefit that is rarely realized but very meaningful.

4. Sticking patience, coming, and sincerity
The large number of prospective pilgrims who registered every year is not comparable to the quota given, so the waiting time to be able to leave for the pilgrimage can take years. This long process teaches the meaning of patience, sincerity, and resignation of all the provisions of Allah Subḥānahu wa ta’ālā. In fact, there are some people who are willing to do various ways to accelerate departure, even though in fact all of that can only occur with permission from Him. So, the big lesson of this worship is prejudice both to God and believes that the best time will come according to the destiny that has been set.

5. Form good morals and habits
During the pilgrimage, every pilgrim is required to maintain behavior, hold emotions, increase smiles, and say politely. Little things like this are actually excellent moral exercises. Avoiding speech that is in vain, not irritable, and stay away from actions that are not useful into habits that should continue to be brought home to the country, and applied in daily life. Hajj is actually not only temporary worship, but a thorough self -transformation.

6. Be the right time to pray and repent
During the holy land, there are many places called mustajab, where prayers are given by Allah Subḥānahu wa ta’ālā. Places such as Multazam, Arafat Field, Muzdalifah, and Mina are a good location. Therefore, pilgrims are highly recommended to pray, be grateful, ask for forgiveness, and repent from past sins. Hajj is a very deep spiritual moment to approach the Creator wholeheartedly.

The six main benefits of the pilgrimage above are only a small part of the wisdom contained in it. There are still many other lessons that can be felt by every pilgrim who runs it sincerely and full of faith. Hopefully by knowing this benefit, we are all increasingly encouraged to carry out the pilgrimage when we are able, and for those who have not, hopefully given the ease and spaciousness of sustenance by Allah Subḥānahu wa Ta’ālā to immediately fulfill it. Āmīn yā rabbal ‘ālamīn.
